Job Description
What You’ll Do:
The Communication Program Consultant is responsible for coordinating, developing and implementing internal communication strategies and tactics such as videos, intranet content, employee emails, program updates, change communication collateral and internal presentations.
Reporting to the Vice-President of Corporate Communications, you’ll be responsible for:
Developing internal communications collateral including intranet content, program updates, employee emails, newsletters, presentations, etc for the Better Together program.
Developing of internal videos including script writing, recording and editing video related to Better Together.
Reviewing internal communications by proofreading and editing documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with brand and corporate standards.
Writing, posting, and maintaining content on the corporate intranet related to Better Together projects.
Working with Better Together project team and People Readiness team to coordinate, and tracking communications activities related to the program.
Driving roll-out of internal communications and engagement campaigns related to Better Together.
Applying basic design skills and/or providing creative direction to a graphic designer to create collateral as required.
Supporting the maintenance of corporate communications’ processes, templates, and tools.
Ensuring consistency and integrity of the OTIP group of companies’ brands across internal communications, including assisting with the roll-out and maintenance of the corporate proofreading program.
Performing other duties within competence, as assigned.
Qualifications

This is the unique blend of skills and experience we would love to see in an ideal candidate:
A university degree or college diploma in Communications, Public Relations, English, or a related subject.
Three to five years’ experience in a communications-related role.
Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills, including proficiency in the use of the Canadian Press style guide.
Experience with content management and email marketing software.
Experience with video creation and editing programs.
Superior time-management, project-management and organizational skills to manage competing priorities.
Ability to manage confidential and sensitive issues with skill, tact and diplomacy.
Able to synthesize complex information, understand the needs and interests of target audiences, define and articulate messages and generate effective and compelling content for a variety of scenarios and platforms.
A demonstrated ability to deal effectively with all levels of internal and external clientele.
Strong computer skills (MS Office required, InDesign/Photoshop an asset)
Knowledge of the insurance industry and/or the Ontario educational system is considered an asset.
The ability to communicate in French is considered an asset.
